NAIG. “NOT an AI-generated post.”
The tag a person puts on writing that is genuinely their own. Coined by Priyank Thakkar in August 2026 and first used publicly on LinkedIn on 28 August 2026. If you see NAIG on a post, a human wrote it, typos and all.
What it means
A claim of authorship, in four letters.
Feeds are filling up with machine writing signed by people. NAIG is the opposite claim: the thoughts, the words and the voice on this post belong to the person whose name is on it.
The imperfections are not a bug. A dropped word, an odd comma, a sentence that runs long because the feeling did: that is what a human fingerprint looks like. NAIG says the fingerprint is real.
Where it began
Coined mid-sentence, on a post written by hand.
On the morning of 28 August 2026, Melbourne time, I wrote a post to my fellow finance and mortgage brokers about charging for advice. I had typed “This is NOT an AI-generated post” so often that I shortened it: NAIG. The acronym said in four letters what the whole disclaimer said in five words.
Since then, NAIG sits as the second line of everything I write by hand. The post is the usage, my profile is the flag, and this page is the record.

Use it yourself
Three rules, no permission needed.
1 · You wrote it
Every thought and every sentence is yours. Spellcheck is fine. A machine drafting it for you is not, or the tag means nothing.
2 · Tag it near the top
“This is NAIG” on the second line, where a reader decides whether to keep reading. That placement is the convention.
3 · Leave the fingerprint
Do not polish the life out of it. The rough edges are the proof. If someone asks what NAIG means, point them here.
